License Transfer and Multi-User Licenses

This page explains how to transfer a license to another person or to another computer, how several people can share one license, and how multi-user licenses work.

Are Licenses Floating?

Yes. A license is not tied to a specific person or computer. The only rule is that the number of copies of the software running at the same time must not exceed the number of licenses you own. As long as you stay within that limit, it does not matter who uses the software or on which computer.

Can I Transfer My License to Another Person or Computer?

Yes. To hand a license to someone else, share the license key with the new user and remove the registration on the old computer. The new user enters the key in the app: open Help → Registration… and paste the key. It does not matter who uses the license, as long as concurrent copies do not exceed the number of licenses you own.

The registration details (name, email, license type, expiration date) are shown in the About window and in the app title.

The new user can download the software from the downloads page. If the license is older, use the matching version from the old versions page.

Can Several People Share One License?

Yes, as long as they do not run the software at the same time. Several people can use the same license key on their own computers, but only as many copies may run simultaneously as you have licenses. If you need more people to work at the same time, buy additional licenses or a multi-user license, as described below.

Can I Use One License on Two Computers?

Yes. You can install the software on two computers and use the same license key on both, as long as only one copy runs at a time. For example, you can keep the software on a desktop and a laptop and switch between them. If you need both copies running at the same time, you need a second license.

How Do Multi-User Licenses Work?

A multi-user license is a set of seats managed by a single license owner. The owner receives one license key that covers all seats. You can start with one seat and add more later. The same floating rule applies: the number of copies running at the same time must not exceed the number of seats you own.

How Do I Change the Name or Email on My License?

The name and email shown on a license are taken from the order form. To change them, provide the new details at your next renewal.

Note that the license details (name and email) cannot be changed, but you can send us the new contact details so we can reach you if needed.
